Clyde F. Seavey Sr. was a San Francisco-based artist who studied at UC Berkeley and the California College of Arts and Crafts. He built a successful career as a commercial illustrator, creating work for national publications like The American Weekly while remaining highly active in local Bay Area art clubs. Today, Seavey is best remembered for his deeply personal domestic sketches, expressive figurative paintings, and atmospheric cityscapes that vividly capture the essence of 20th-century California life.
