CLYDE FOLLETT SEAVEY (1904–1991)
San Francisco artist Clyde Follett Seavey studied at UC Berkeley and the California College of Arts and Crafts before embarking on a career as both a commercial illustrator and fine artist. Working prolifically across watercolor, ink, and oil, his oeuvre captures the essence of mid-century California through intimate domestic portraits and moody architectural scenes. Seavey exhibited in galleries throughout the state, including a notable showing at Gilbert Galleries in 1966, and was an active member of numerous Bay Area arts organizations.
